Classroom Countdown: Lori Edition

Tuesday, December 31, 2013
'Tis the season for counting down.  So why not have our own classroom countdown?

Here's how it works:

  • First, grab the image and include it in your own post.
  • Then blog about the top five things you have used and loved in your classroom this year.  You might choose to write a little bit about them, provide links if you already have, or a little bit of both.  Remember, number 1 is your most favorite favorite.
  • Finally, link up here so that others can find you.

It's as easy as that!

Here's Lori's list to get you started:
Text Icons
5.  Gretchen Bernabei's Text Icons- These icons are great for generating compositions or having students revise to include specific strategies.  They also make grading much easier.  You can visually see what students have used, where, and how often.

4.  Affinity Mapping

3.  Words to Know and Use- This is a page in the Toolbox section of our notebooks.  Here we keep track of context vocabulary.  If I pre-teach a word, we record it on that page along with synonyms, and they are encouraged to use it in their writing.

2.  Interactive Notebooks

1.  Shared Readings
